Description

(TOUR NOT AVAILABLE)
Enjoy one of Santiago’s most dazzling rides, biking through neighborhoods rich in history, and challenging yourself to bike up the steep San Cristóbal hill (Metropolitan Park) where you will admire the late afternoon light over the city, and then enjoy the wonderful breezy descent, as the city starts lighting up for the night.

Departing from Café Literario on Parque Balmaceda, our first destination is beautiful Parque Forestal with its impressive Fuente Alemana (German fountain) on the edge of downtown Santiago, from where we cycle to Barrios Lastarria, Bellas Artes, Central Market, Bellavista, the Aviation Fountain, and Parque Uruguay.

We’ll get to the Pedro de Valdivia entrance of Santiago´s Metropolitan Park and start the steep ascent leading to the summit of Cerro San Cristóbal. We will reach the Tupahue swimming pool and the scenic terraces of this natural lookout for an unparalleled view of Santiago against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes Mountains and the soaring high-rises of “Sanhattan”, Santiago´s new financial district, lit by the late afternoon sun.

Our biking adventure winds up at the El Hundimiento lookout. From there, we will enjoy the ride downhill to our final destination, Pedro de Valdivia Metro stop on Line 1.

“Such an amazing day”

We travel often with our daughters, ages 10 and 14. This outing was one of the best experiences we've had with them to date. The operators of this tour were so knowledgable and fun to be with.
A picnic in the park was set up to our surprise and true delight. The food was wonderful and gave us the energy and enthusiasm to attempt to ride up San Cristobal hill. My kids were so proud to make it to the top.
Thank you Andreas and family for your encouragement. A truly wonderful day that we will always remember.

“The best way to see Santiago!”

I was visiting Santiago with my wife and son. We contacted Paseos en Bicicleta and spent two marvelous days touring the city - Santiago by Night, and Old Town Santiago.
My wife previously submitted a review (Tamakid). In December I was back to Santiago on business and asked Andres and Ines to provide a new tour for me. They did not disappoint. Andres took me on a personalized tour of the parks of Santiago. I did not know there were so many.
My favorite part was the climb up Cerro San Cristobal. What a magnificent view! And with Andres knowledge of the city, I was able to learn so much about the history, and current developments. If you like to cycle, and are planning a visit to Santiago, these tours are a must. The team is friendly and accommodating.
The fees are reasonable - especially when compared with the "big bus" tour. And with the excercise you will have, you don't have to feel guilty about the great meal you are going to have that night.
Take the tour - you will not regret it. You will likely meet friends for life!
