A multi-day self-guided bike and wine tour in the Central Valley of Chile around the renowned Casablanca and Colchagua Valleys, two of the best-producing wine regions in Chile. Matanzas beach, a famous surfing spot in Central Chile and Santa Cruz, a quaint town in the middle of Colchagua Valley will be the perfect complement to an astonishing 7-day bike ride.

Itinerary

Day 1: SANTIAGO METROPOLITAN PARK

Founded in 1541, Santiago is the action-packed capital of Chile. A multi-faceted city, in the last 20 years has undergone a well-deserved makeover, waking up from “The Ugly Duckling Complex” to become one of the most vibrant Latin American Capitals.

In this warm-up ride, we will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, where we will admire the extensive city. It will be also the chance to adjust the bikes to your specific needs

Day 2:  CURACAVÍ TO CASABLANCA VALLEY

The profound yet simple essential products of the Earth will provide the main course of this bike tour through extensive vineyard-flanked country roads in Curacaví and Casablanca Valleys.

You will admire impressive views where you can absorb the captivating beauty of Chile and taste the renowned white wines and fresh reds of Casablanca.

This off-the-beaten-path route is a Paradise for bikers and one of the most impressive at one of the best-producing wine-regions in the country.

 Day 3: SANTO DOMINGO TO MATANZAS

 Today we will head south along winding country roads and inland charms just begging to be discovered.

We will pick you up from your hotel to take you to our departure point 15km off  Santo Domingo, an exclusive beach resort. Our aim today is reaching the breathtaking beach of Matanzas, a secluded spot that only recently has gained a well-deserved recognition on the tourist map of Chile.

Day 4: NAVIDAD TO MARCHIGÜE

Today’s biking adventure will take us along the Central Zone of Chile to get a flavor of our deepest traditions and the culture of this part of the country, away from the throngs of tourists. Gentle landscapes and the peaceful rhythm of the countryside will envelop us, in an invigorating combination of biking and culture.

Type of route:                                       Mixed: easy to avid. Scenic route, undulating road, steep slope at the beginning, great views to the valleys and the Andes

Day 5: POBLACION TO LOLOL

 After a well-deserved rest of yesterday’s adventures, today we will bike to Lolol, a quaint little town in the Central Valley of Chile. Endless vineyards and the sweeping vistas of the valleys and will be the perfect companion for today’s ride.

Once we have reached Lolol, we will be taken back to Población for lunch and then to your accommodations. You will have the afternoon free to explore the tranquil city of Santa Cruz, the amazing museum and the local life of a vigorous city dedicated almost exclusively to wine-associated activities.

Day 6: SANTA CRUZ TO VIÑA VIK

Our route today will take us to remarkable places where time has stood still for centuries. We will depart at Santa Cruz and head to Viña Vik, one of the newest additions in this remarkable valley.

Our route will take us along old country roads, and we will reach Las Azudas de Larmahue, the century-old wooden water mills still working in Chile and Spain show the human ingenuity to solve in a simple way complex engineering problems. Larmahue is a unique place, little known even by the Chilean people.

Our tour finishes today at the exclusive Viña Vik, where we will visit the impressive winery and have a tour and wine tasting (not included in our price).
